SEE TWO PRO RACES, ONE ROAD, ONE GRAVEL

Ex-Pro Filippo Pozzato created the “Ride the Dreamland” project to expand cycling in the stunning Veneto region north of Venice. The “Serenissima” brings pros to fight it out on hilly gravel climbs, and the “Veneto Classic” has become a key end of season road showdown.  See both, and cheer in the winner from the VIP party at the finish line.

EXPLORE THE DREAMLAND 

Climb through the forest on massive Mt. Grappa, featuring an 8% grade for 19k. Other rides follow the rivers that tumble out of the mountains, take you to the castle at Cittadella, or bring you to the historic Bassano bridge. 

RIDE THE VENETOGO SOCIAL FONDO

With the background of the Dolomites, the route for the Venetogo social fondo is beautiful and challenging, including sections faced by the pros.  Choose the distance that’s right for you, and enjoy the socializing and good food at the rest breaks.  

EXPLORE HISTORIC BASSANO

Stand on the 13th century Ponte Vecchio bridge over the Fiume Brenta and ponder the bullet holes in the nearby buildings.  The strategic location is an important part of centuries of Italian history, from the power of the doges to world wars.  Today, grappa bars and shops featuring beautiful Italian design offer the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful city.

Today we’ll leave from Peschiera del Garda, and we’ll start this beautiful experience with a bang, climbing the legendary Monte Grappa, famous for its role in the clash between Italian and Austrian soldiers during World War I.  During the 2024 Giro d’Italia, Pogacar put his final “seal of triumph” on this climb, which they tackled twice. The 19.1km with an average gradient of 8.1% of this climb starting from Semonzo town will test your climbing skills!

 At the top you will enjoy a typical lunch in a mountain hut and a breathtaking view, on the clearest days you can be lucky enough to see the reflection of the Venice Lagoon.

Today, get ready for the main event! We will ride for the VENEtoGO social ride  

The event will start in the French style from the elegant Villa Angaran in Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza, with its marvelous monumental complex surrounded by gardens. Participants will be able to challenge themselves on a 51km (32mi) route that retraces the key features of the Veneto Classic. The circuit, in fact, will cover what the pro cyclists will face the next day, climbing the famous La Rosina and La Tisa. At the refreshments  you will find tasty and fun selections (not your usual bananas!): pizza and beer, wine and snacks at the top of the climb leading to Diesel Farm winery. 

At the end of the day, more beer, with burgers and lots of music!

Today the Veneto Classic is held, an international and unique bike race that brings the leading names in the cycling scene to our area, being one of the last chances for the pros to leave their mark during the season! The ride ends in the center of Bassano.

Today we start our ride right after breakfastwith a gentle climb to the hilltop village of Asolo where we will have a coffee admiring this nice town.
After a quick shower in the hotel we will head to Bassano where we will have lunch in the VIP area of the Veneto Classic and watch the pro race.

To finish off this holiday we will celebrate together with a well deserved dinner in a renowned restaurant in the city centre of Bassano.

After breakfast, transfer from Bassano to Peschiera del Garda: time to say goodbye to your new cycling friends or to continue your cycling holiday at Garda Bike Hotel!
